Is There Anyone Who Takes Risperidol Consta A Professional Sports Person?!

a friend of mine is taking Risperdal consta 50mg IM every two weeks, he was a promising athlete but now complains that he can no longer function at a high level of physical health?! because of taking the drug? how detrimental to physical fitness is risperidone & can u achieve high levels of fitness if you train hard???? thanks, all info would be useful!!! Athletes help???

I'm not an athlete, but I can tell you that Risperdal can cause some very problematic side effects, as listed by the FDA, such as severe somnolence and weight gain, so it can really slow the body down and make it harder to maintain stamina and good physical function.

Other side effects may possibly include drowsiness, sedation and dry mouth.
