Hello, Kristine! How is your son?
The Hydrocodone in this is narcotic analgesic, so it can cause nausea as a side effect. Lowering the amount you give him will on hurt if it leaves him in pain. It may also cause other side effects, such as drowsiness, dizziness and constipation.
Have you consulted his pediatrician? They may be able to prescribe something to prevent the nausea.
