i take norco 10/325 and wonder is there a stronger hydrocodone pill such as 15/325
Because of all the abusers, the DEA is seriously considering making hydrocodone a class II narcotic like oxycodone. Technically it is already a class II sold by itself, but in the US you can't get it without an additive such as APAP, ibuprofen, guiafensin, etc.
Hydrocodone is just as addictive as oxycodone. Oxycodone is 1.5x stronger than hydrocodone. 10 mg of hydrocodone is stronger than 5mg of oxycodone and almost the same as 7.5 mg. The main difference is you can get oxy without any additives which is the main reason it is already classified as a class II narcotic.
I wonder how many deaths there are a year from non opioid tolerant people taking an 80 mg oxycontin or even worse, several oxycontin 30mg tablets.
A Clinical Trial is currently being conducted for 30 mgs and 90 mgs Extended Release Hydrocodone. And other are completed. You can get info at clinicaltrials.gov put extended release hydrcocodone in the search box
You may want to try a different medication without the acetaminophen; one med. is Clonitazene, which is 3 times the strength of what you're taking and has no 'extra ingredient'. So, unless you need the added stuff, take a med. without it.
Another option is Morphine Sulfate 10 - 30 mg. IR tablets, they work quick and well.
I have Osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, and several other medical problems.
I am on a 30 mg Morphine twice a day as well as 15 mg of the same, however there time released.
I went from 15 mg Oxycontin to these morphine.
I feel like the codeine worked better than these higher potency medications.
What is a suggestion. I certainly agree with the other's comments.
I just want to warn people not to advance to oxycontin if you do not HAVE to....it takes over your life...it did mine for 10 years...now i am alive again...oxy caused SEVERE depression and withdrawal from society. This is my personal opinion only.
Try not to go up to percet. I went to percet 10/325 from norco 10/325. They take over your life. Im now back on norco.
No, the maximum amount currently available on the market is 10mgs of Hydrocodone. The only way to get a higher dosage than that is if your doctor specially orders it and it is put together for you by a compounding pharmacy.
Hydrocodone is a potent narcotic and is rarely given in higher doses. Usually, when someone isn't getting the pain relief they need from it, they move on to something else, such as Percocet, which contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone.
It is still a narcotic and can cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth.
