Yes, you can take them together, or a couple hours apart, unless your doctor specifics otherwise. When multiple blood pressure and cardiac medicines are prescribed, most doctors do instruct them to be taken together, that way it's easier for someone to remember to take them, so they don't miss any doses.
The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.
