Is Morphine Stronger Than Hydrocodone

I was put on morphine sulfate 15mg ER 1 every 12 hours. I had been taking hydrocodone 10/325 4xs a day. Is this a better slightly stronger amount to control pain after taking hydrocodone for 14 years?

According to the conversion ratios provided by Global, they convert on a 1:1 ratio. So, to be equal to a daily dose of 40mgs Hydrocodone, you'd need 40mgs of Morphine.

It is also time released, so the medication is gradually released over the 12 hour period.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

I was recently put on morphine sulfate ER 15 mg, every 12 hrs., but it doesn't seem to work as well as hydrocodone 7.5-325, 4 to 5 times daily.

I was changed from four 10/325 Hydrocodone to 7.5 Morphine sulphate. Will this help more with pain?
