Is It Time To Move On From 10/325 Oxycodones

2007 i was paralized in my neck, arms ,and shoulders. for 5 months. 2007, had 3 cervical disk removed. was put on 10/650 oxys 4 times a day.2010 had another disk removed. also a knee replacement. i am currently on 10/325 oxys, and flector patches, and 2mg xaxax (2) per day. i have permnant nerve damage in my arms. my question is , i am still in so much pain, cannot lift my arms above my head. oxys seemed to work at beginning. but not as much now, pharmacist told me to go up to 15 mg of oxys. i want your opinion, please. to present day.

Hello, Lin! How are you?

Your pain may have worsened and/or your body may have gotten tolerant to your current dosage. It is normal and your doctor is aware of that, they should be expecting it to happen eventually. The FDA and NIH even provides guidelines for how to handle it and what the next dosage choices should be, so yes, you may need to raise your dosage.

However, anything over 10mgs does not contain the Acetaminophen that Percocet does, it would be straight Oxycodone.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

thanks for your input. i am in so much pain, i have to get another mri. cannot lift my left arm above my shoulder. cannot use last three fingers on left hand ,pinkie, ring finger,middle finger. i just hope my dr. will upper my pain meds. thank you. and MERRY CHRISTMAS.
