Is Hair Loss A Side Effect With Cymbalta

I'm on a few prescription drugs and i thought it was the Metropolol. I have been on the metoprolol for 2.5 years and never noticed anything. I've been on the Cymbalta for about 6 months. A low dose of 20 mg. My hair has aways been very thick. I notice some thinning around the forehead.

Hello, Mike! How are you? Sorry about the hair loss.

It it most likely either due to age, or the Metoprolol. If you read deeply into the detailed side effects of it, hair loss is in there and can occur in both men and women that take it. I experienced it myself, when I tried it…..and being female with a glorious mane of red, I wasn't happy about it, either!

The best thing to do would be to talk to your doctor about it and ask them to prescribe an alternative medication that you can try. If it was being caused by the Metoprolol, you should start seeing some new growth in that area in a couple of months.
