Is Gabapentin A Muscle Relaxer

Restless leg syndrome. Need relaxant to be able to get more
continuous, un-interrupted sleep !!!! I know someone who takes
Gabapentin for his restless legs!!! Any serious side effects ??? Right
now I'm taking the occasional Clonozapam for a RESTLESS leg.
I think Gabapentin would be less addictive & less side effects????

I was prescribed Carbadopa- Levidopa for RLS. No help because as it turned out my RLS was caused by Seroquel and or Trazadonebprecribed for sleep. Once I figured it out and stopped those it went away.

I am not a medical person. My own experience of RLS is that magnesium phosphate daily completely eliminated it. I started taking magphos to avoid cramps after exercise, which it does for me. Then i noticed the RLS disappeared too. Cheap and safe -- it's just a nutrient, not a drug.

No no no no, don't be fooled, the Gabapentin will do zero for any relief from restless leg syndrome and the side effects from it are horrible. Gabapentin is a medication that doctors push on people so they don't have to prescribe real pain medication or clotopin or xanax.

Gabapentin is actually an anticonvulsant that has been shown to be useful in treating other medical conditions, including mood disorders, some forms of nerve pain, and restless leg syndrome.

The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain.
