we have an eldely dog that has bad arthritis,i have been giving her 1/2 of a 5 mg tab twice a day,it to works well,but like with all ir meds,there is peaks and valleys.
I was wondering if 10 mg oxi er would be alot stronger.thank you.

Yes, it would be double. Both of these medications contain Oxycodone, the Oxycontin is just a time released formulation.
The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. (Yes, even in dogs!)
But please, don't dose her higher, without her vets approval. You may overdose her.
