Hello, Shelly! How are you?
What all medications have you tried?
There are some, such as Temazepam, that are quite strong and are often used, when someone has failed to respond to other options.
The FDA classifies it as a benzodiazepine, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.
Have you tried cutting out caffeine and sugar? Have you tried keeping a strict sleep schedule? Soothing baths at night?
Have you had a sleep study done?
Sonata 10mg capsules are the strongest sedative hypnotic for sleep. Be very aware that it can and will cause you to do and say some really stupid s*** you won't remember.
My brain won't let me sleep. Every time I close my eyes at night my brain goes all funny like it's going to freeze. I'm awake writing this it's 2.45 am. Can anyone share some ideas? All my doctor gives me are sleeping pills.
Can Mylan 457 help you sleep? Cause I've been having trouble sleeping and my doc told me I have insomnia and he gave me these Mylan 457 pills (also called lorazepam 1mg) and to take them everyday for about two to four weeks; but I haven't took them yet cause I don't know if they will help me get to sleep? Or if I will get little rest? The main reason I am worried is because I start school and I can't come to class all sleepy, you know? Please advise.
I alternate between three sleep meds so I don't build a tolerance to anyone of them. I take Ambien two nights a week (Tuesdays and Fridays), Trazodone three nights a week (Wednesdays, Saturdays and Mondays) and Belsomra two nights a week (Thursdays and Sundays). This has helped me deal with my SEVERE insomnia for the last two years. For years before this system of alternating between sleep meds, I tried everything, became tolerant to them, and had a horrible time withdrawing. Please try to avoid Benadryl or any types of antihistamines. I still take them on occasion and I need to stop. They are powerful anticholinergics and are implicated as one of the causes of Alzheimer's. Also, avoid benzodiazepines. I nearly died when I withdrew incorrectly. The damage to my central nervous system was so extensive that it was probably the main reasons I got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Most people aren't as sensitive as I was to benzos. But it's not worth the risk.
