I've been taking Elavil for 10 years. I started taking it for an antidepressant alone at the max dose of 150 mgs. Then things became more complex, for PTSD IT helped the nightmares, it also helps headaches, it suppresses the severity of them. After a car accident and before the headaches I decreased to 50 mgs and added Welbutrin for the depression. I 've been on vicodin and Percocet for 5 years. my tolerance was high and I wasn't getting much relief . I got hit by a car while riding a biccycle....it has not been easy or convlenient to live in pain and earning trust from Dr.s As soon as my case settled, I got treated like a junkie. As soon as my insurance changed/doctors changed. Anyway sorry off the subject. I finally am on MS Contin started at 15 mg 1 every 12 hours, now I'm up to 60 mg 's Contin. I am allowed A few vicodin for breakthrough pain, but I dont get a lot of relief still even with the Morphine. To my point, at night I take my 50 mgs of Elavil and my 60 mgs of time releasesd morphine...right before bed and I have the most relief ,best sleep. I am now also getting chiropractic care and WOW. I find life so much more enjoyable, normal everyday things are just awesome. I'm not high, sluggish, out of it or anything like that. Also another thing about Elavil is its not expensive, and its been around for a long time thus; it's not a new drug that the pharmas use us for guinea pigs. There's not a lot of scary long term effects.(that we know of but I feel more comfortable taking that than these new drugs, that the pharmacy know is going to kill someone, they have $ put away and ready to be distributed (lawsuit ). it's not put away for IF but WHen someone dies or is seriously injured!

I have to say that, despite StickIt's detailed guide on how to take this pill, it is still NOT SAFE. I don't mean it's not safe the way it's not safe to shoot up any pills... I mean it's not safe because of that time release gel. If you are able to draw anything up you're STILL getting some of that time release coating in the syringe! This means that when your blood mixes with the solution and heats it up! It's a really good way to lose an arm because once that time release coating turns to goo it will eventually harden. When that gunk starts clogging up you veins you might find yourself giving up and arm just because you wanted to get high. Please look into a more legit way to get IV Morphine.

Someone told me you could use alcohol to separate the time release from the medicine. However, this still seems very dangerous and very stupid so I'm not going to explain the whole process. I understand the desire to medicate (or get high) but nothing is worth losing an arm over...

R u sure this works? I'm withdrawing from methadone and I only have a couple 15 mil morphine pills to help me threw it, I already have broken ribs so I need as little pain as possible going threw this. So please no bulls***ing, it really worked?

ARE YOU SOME KIND OFJUNKIE??? THEY ARE NOT MEANT TO INJECT THEY ARE FOR ORAL USE AND HAVE SOMETHING MIXED WITH THEM TO PREVENT THEM FROM BEING INJECTED. DON'T BE A JERK GET HELP

WHAT YOU ARE DOING DOES AFFECT ME. SO DON'T GET SO HIGH AND MIGHTY. YOUR SHOOTING THESE DRUGS AND THINKING YOUR JUST HAVING FUN IS A JOKE. IT MAY SOMEDAY HAVE AN EFFECT ON ME GETTING MY DRUGS FOR THE PAIN I AM IN BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE TAKING THESE DRUGS AND SHOOTING THEM. I HATE TO ASK WHERE YOU GET THEM THAT WOULD BE ANOTHER REASON WHY IT EFFECTS ME. I AM SORRY YOU ARE A JUNKIE BUT I AM REALLY SORRY THAT YOU ARE USING THE DRUG THAT I AM GETTING FOR THE PAIN I AM IN 24 HOURS A DAY.
