Lortab contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, so yes, it can have an affect on your liver due to the latter ingredient. Acetaminophen is well known to to cause liver damage or failure, in some people, it high amounts are used for a long period of time.

Amounts over 4,000mgs a day also risk fatal toxicity.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
