Inconsistent Urinalysis

I'm in pain mgmt. I've been denied usual meds (3 days late on refill) 50mcg fentanyl and 5mg oxycodone for severe neck pain after ACDF. The doc says my UA is "inconsistent" bc I'm not showing positive for Versed. I see him in 2 days to discuss this, meanwhile my meds are gone and I'm very concerned. My question is, why would I test negative? The UA is taken within 30 min of IV administration of Versed after epi injections. ANY info you can provide is welcome. I'm very disappointed in my Dr as I truly thought he cared and to leave me in withdrawal and even 4 days out until he has me scheduled to talk about "inconsistency" is a heart breaker.
