If U Run Out Of Oc's How Can U Get Your Dr. To Write An Early Rx So Your Ins. Will Cover It?

On oxycontin 80 mg. twice a day. Ran out but need dr. to write rx. But need ins. to cover it.

From what I understand, that it is usually going to be based on your doctor's discretion as far as trying to convince him/her to write you a script early. So that's really only something you can speak with your doctor about if you've built any sort of trust within your patient/doctor relationship. You can always just be upfront and honest about how your increased use of oxycontin. But just so this never happens again, you should always take your medication as prescribed and nothing more. Otherwise you'll just keep repeating the cycle and digging a deeper hole.

As far as your insurance is concerned, I believe someone in another thread had recently mentioned that most scripts have to be at least 90% complete before a refill is authorized by insurance. I'd speak with your insurance company just to be clear on that, but it sounds like they should at least be able to work with you and your doctor if you correlate it right.
