I have sciatic nerve damage as well as degenerating discs among some other issues. I went two weeks without working because of being stubborn and not getting checked. After 4 doctors i finally found one that knew whatbhe was talking about. No i didnt diagnose myself either. Seemed no matter what one doctor would do nothing would help. After a few visits i changed doctors. As soon as i told my current doctor what was going on he fidnt even hesitate. Looked at me and told me what was wrong then started ordering xrays and tests. Morphine was helping at first and after a few adjustments because it seemed to not be helping, he put me on dilaudin or how ever you spell it. The down fall is he is requesting i talk to a surgeon. Whats your thought?

You aren't going to find a doctor who will just throw medications at you, and not want other tests, and medical consults, because they would prefer to fix the problem, if possible, rather than just keep throwing opioids at it, since they have such a high addiction/abuse potential.
Does the Dilaudid help?
Along with its risk of being habit forming, it may cause other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
