Hi Wayne,
I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. I am not a medical professional so I can't prescribe any medication or tell you what to take but I will offer some suggestions based on the research I've done.
When it comes to pain, I usually recommend more homeopathic options first (since I don't have personal experiences with pain medication).
The first recommendation is essential oils, there are different oils that can be used for pain relief and to relieve stress, tension, and stomach issues. Grade A essential oils are the best because they are completely pure and are normally made from organically grown plants which are distilled using steam distillation at a specific temperature. Some herbs/oils that can be used for chronic pain are kava kava, betony, and rosemary. Rosemary’s strong analgesic qualities make it very beneficial when used as massage oil for muscle aches and/or headaches. Oregano, thyme, ginger, vetiver, cypress, eucalyptus are oils that can do a great job of treating back pain and on top of that, they also have a very high (15,000-200,000 +) ORAC value (according to the ORAC scale on antioxidant capacity). ORAC stands for oxygen radical absorption capacity. The larger the number (ORAC value) is, the higher the amount of antioxidants and free-radical fighting properties. Seeing as those oils have such a high ORAC value, means that they are extremely healing on a holistic level.
Next, I'd recommend acupuncture or acupressure if you're able to have it done. It's quick and relatively painless. I had
acupuncture done on a painful nerve in my foot and it was very successful!
Please post back if you have any questions!
