Hello, Tami! How are you?

The FDA controls drug approval and safety monitoring by logging side effects, adverse reactions and etc. However, the DEA controls how much of any given substance is available, how much each pharmacy can carry, actions or recommendations to try to prevent abuse and illegal diversion and other similar issues.

This medication is classified as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

That said, pharmacies are restricted in how much they can order and keep in stock each month. Once they are out, they are out and cannot restock until the following month.

Additionally, they are allowed to refuse prescriptions they feel are questionable or that have been written for too large of a quantity.

Is there anything else I can help with?
