I have diclofenac that was prescribed 9 / 2013, is it still okay to use?

This medication does not become dangerous, once expired, but it does start to lose effectiveness, so it may not work as well as it did, when new. Additionally, due to some of the risks associated with it, it isn't safe to double up. Thus, it would be best to dispose of the expired medication and obtain a new supply, if you still need to take it.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation.
