I Have Been Taking Hydrocodone 10 And My Doctor Just Changed Me To Acetaminophen Codeine 3 (Page 4)

I have been taking Hydrocodone 10 since March for RSD the doctor changed me this week to Acetaminophen/cod3. The doctor said that the law made it where he can not give the hydrocodone any more. I want to know if they are the same? I was told they are the same. I'm scared to take it because I have sleep apnea and a real sensitivity to codone. I get breathing problems and rashes. Not sure what to do at this point. I can not take most opioid drugs.
Probably because Vicodin is now a Schedule II Controlled Substance — a real overreaction, I believe. There was nothing to stop the DEA from making it a Schedule IIA drug, say, with a refill limit of ONE. Some states prohibits docs without special training in Pain Med from prescribing some Schedule II narcotics. I'm a shrink with a PhD in Pharmacology as well as my MD and psych sub-specialties. They tend to give us a wide berth. The first time I saw Vicodin (there was only one strength 5mg/500mg) my god friend and family interest (with more degrees after his name than a thermometer) that VICODIN was named such because each MILLIGRAM is SIX (VI) as potent as COD. Thus Vicodin 5mg = 30mg of Cod, or a Tylenol #3. But Yelnol E3 will not provide the analgesic of VICODIN ES (7.5mg/300mg) or VICODIN-HP (10mg/300mg). Ditto for Lorcet, Norco, etc. I wrote for Vicodin for my Mom's migraines because codeine upsets her stomach. She only needed the basic 5mg/500g tab. Hope this helps! If the codeine doesn't upset your stomach, there's aways APAPl or Empracet #4 (1 gr or 60mg of codeine).

4.0 GPA requires good grammar at least. Professionals don't use slang.
That is why the laws have changed about prescribing pain meds, besides the fact of all the deaths from people taking them. So many people are addicted to them. You can't really say one is equal to another because we all are different and respond to them differently.
Any other obvious facts youd like to state or is that it
Who cares seriously i have bad (grammar) i addmit it thanks for stating the abvious you feel better now
You can't even spell "people" correctly. Or "grammar"......
Dude you dont need grammer in pharmocology or chemistry thats why you can never read doctors notes and s*** like that. Ask any doctor or pharmisist or chemist grammer dose not matter infact a mojority of peaple in my class have bad grammer is a common thing umong peaple in those types of feild grammer is one of my week points but it hasennt stoped me. Teachers just think its funny im a 4.0 gpa even with my bad gramer f*** grammer your wrong
Max-you need spellcheck.... in a bad way....especially if you are telling everyone you have all these medical degrees. Sorry, but pretty sure you are not a legitimate source of information.
It is true what he is telling you about the law, with prescribing pain medication. He can lose his license to practice if he doesn't follow the law. It sounds to me that he is trying his best to help you. People that I know that have been given hydrocodone for years for chronic pain were told no more and referred to pain management clinics.
Malpractice can be proven by medical records. But it isn't proven by a patient just because they got their medical records and they don't agree with the medical records and testimony. Even if there is proof because the Dr wrote in the patients medical records he said tylenol 3 is equal to hydrocodone 10/tylenol 325 that doesn't mean what the Dr did was illegal or that it rises to the level of malpractice, because it doesn't. If the patient tried to take a certain amount of tylenol 3 because they thought it equals hydrocodone 10/tylenol 325, that is the patients responsibility, not the drs. Patients are responsible for their actions
They can't blame everything on the and Sue or have them arrested.
So you saying no1 has proved malpractice by obtaining medical records what are you saying are you saying a doctor saying that 30mg of codeine is equal to 10mg of hydrocodone is a mistake no no no he know it wasn't equal anybody with the internet can look that up thats one of the first things i learned in pharmacology school in 2010 who knows why he lied maybe it was because he was being careful because of potential allergies but why lie about it thats a deliberate lie are you saying he made a boo boo a mistake what if he did the mistake the other way around and the patient od's if the doctor wanted to reduce dose or be couscous for allergies then just tell the patient dont lie. It can be dangerous for patients and doctor thats like my doctor telling me that 90mg of oxicodone is the same as 90mg of ir morphine its not its about half the strength and it will couse unnecessary side effects iv had freinds kill themselves becouse of this s*** veterns peaple i care about iv had freinds resort to self medicating with street opioids then become homless and loose everything screw that doctor's mistake or lie whatever you wana call it it still puts both pataint and doctor at risk your ignorant on the matter your not seeing the whole pic your just arguing on every little thing you can just like someone of your intelligence would
But you can get the 325 with the 7.5 hydro's. I was on the 10 for a while, but he only prescribed 120 instead of 180 and I need 180 to get through a month. I don't remember the acetaminophen level in my 10's, but because of my liver we have to watch it so I think you might be able to get the 10's in 325. Personally I'd rather make the trip once a month to my doctors office to pick up a prescription than get Tylenol 3's with 5 refills, but this make be a doctor's rather harsh decision to avoid addiction. IMO, that too much of a drop too fast. I'd call him and tell him it just ain't working.
Sorry, not even close. If you've never taken a pain pill, Tylenol 3 will work...maybe. It's way better than Tramadol, however. He could have least gone down to the 7.5 or 5mg hydro. Ask him about it. Tell him the Tylenol 3 are having no effect at all.
Im not talking about this case perticularly just in genneral
A case wont go to court until the medical records have been read. So saying a Dr lied in court but the patient knows the Dr lied because they got their medical records males no sense. In court they go on evidence and proof. What someone says isn't evidence unless it is backed up in cases like this.
In some states it is against the law to record someone without their knowledge.
Contrary to popular belief, drs don't know it all and they do make mistakes. There is a world of difference in something being a mistake and it being illegal.
Ya your right, they can write 3 months worth of cll substances but cannot write them onto one prescription. It has to be separate like 3, 30 day scripts or 9, 10 day scripts or whatever the doctor deems nessasary for the patient. All i was saying is that they cannot write 90 days of cll substance on one prescription, and maybe that clarifies it a bit but know where way off subject and s*** so im done.
Its illeagle to lie to a paitaint in most cases and alot of patients are know recording thare visits to the doctor and some patients have abtained medical records to prove the doctor lied in court lieing about pain meds moght not seen like a big deal but if the paitaint were to lie about narcotic pain meds or lie about having history of nacotic abuse to get narcotics in most states its a fellony now thare are some exsclutions like if a paitaint gets in car accident and is on the verge of death and lets say the paitaints father died in the car accident the doctor might take it upon himself to lie and say his father made it in fear of overwhelming the patient even then thares been cases of peaple sueing for that so if a doctor wants to lie he can just like you can lie as a patient dosent make it leagle tho these laws will become ever more stcrict as time goes on alot of patients are recording thare visits just for this purpose
My wording must be off becouse that is what iv been saying your just saying in a different way just so you can argue the paeple dont need to know the lagistics like the whole aprroved software thing uhhhh ya you might think if a doctor writes an electronic scrip for a cll substance off course they need aproved software iv got the laws what do i need to copy and paste it im shur you bl would find somthing to argue about then to
If it is legal for doctors to mislead you about the health of your unborn baby .... or at the very least make it where you are unable to sue for medical malpractice when you have not been informed of things that the medical community knows but refuses to inform you about ... it looks like you now need to have at the very least .. one other opinion when those ultra sound pics are taken and blood work is in .... to me this is very sad as it should be up to the individual whether they want to proceed with the birth of a baby that doctors know is not healthy and even worse ... when they know the baby can not live outside the womb but refuse to give this information to the mother because of their own beliefs. OUTRAGEOUS
Do you think it's okay for your Dr to lie to you? It Is most certainly unethical and yes your doctor has a responsibility to tell you the truth. I don't know where you got your information but the AMA I assure you does not agree.
