Is there any information on the bottle, at all? Such as a pharmacy name and prescription number? If so, you can go to the pharmacy and ask, though due to privacy issues they may not tell you. Though they will log it for future reference and that person will be listed in the drug database for giving away or selling prescription medications.
Acyclovir is used to treat or prevent outbreaks of the herpes virus, including the simplex that causes cold sores. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.
