What is the difference in opana and hydromorphine? My insurance will pay for the second one, but not the first.
Opana is a brand name drug , it would be called oxymorphone, generically, the other is Diluadid and it come generic as, Hydromorphone, If you get oxymorphone, the generic name of Opana, the insurance company would pay for it, but it is not available generically I believe.
Not sure why nurse said my zofran is a controlled substance. My daily nauseaad vomit from rare gastro disorder is helped by zofran. Without it, my nausea and vomit out of conTrol, and already very malnourished, underwt and on tpn picc line...so what gives¿?
To the original poster, the difference is just the manufacturer, since this is a generic medication. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, drowsiness, constipation, dry mouth, and dizziness.
What Carl has posted is correct, but both of these medications are now available as generics.
Zofran is not a controlled substance, it is used to treat, or prevent nausea, and vomiting, though it may cause side effects, such as dizziness, drowsiness, headache, and dry mouth. Are you sure she understood the medication you were asking about? I wonder if she misheard you.
