Hydrocorti Nystatin Q-dryl

My husband was prescribed this med after telling his oncologist that he felt like he had something in his throat that was making it hard to swallow. For the last 3 days now he has had constant hiccups. I mean constant(even while sleeping). He's about at the end of his rope. I suggested that he take a dose of the "magic mouthwash". The hiccups stopped for about 15 minutes and then came back. That 15 minutes has been his only relief for 3 days. He had chemo this week as well. I don't know if any of this is related but we HAVE to get these hiccups to stop.

What all medications does he take? The hiccups could be related to one of them.

Are Hydrocortisone and Nystatin the only ingredients listed for the magic mouthwash? Its typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, can include nausea, funny taste and dry mouth.

Hi, I know your post is old. My Dad goes through spurts of hiccups. The longest was nonstop for 12 days. A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar will stop them for short term relief. When bad, he has been prescribed thorazine. He takes it every 6 hours until the hiccups subside. They are exhsusting for him. I hope your husband was able to finally stop.
