I took 7.25/325 of hydrocodone every 4-6 hrs for pain and after 9 yrs of treatment under a Doctor's care alone with spinal injections every 3 months for 9 yrs. At 45 yrs old going on 46 yrs old I will now have to get surgery it is looking like as things are much worse and only surgery can help me, but the Doctor wanted to wait as long as I could before going under the knife. My question is, if I was put on Morphine 15 what would I have to take that would even be close to what I was originally on (hydrocodone)? I mean I have been told Morphine won't help me at all and I will be in a lot of pain after surgery.

No, you should be fine, Morphine and Hydrocodone are equivalent on a 1 to 1 ratio, so 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone equals 7.5mgs of Morphine.
The FDA warns that these medications may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.
