Hydrocodone Vs Tramadol

I have been taking hydrocodone 10/325 4 times daily for post surgery pain for 2 weeks. My dr recently switched me to 50 mg tramadol because he wasn't in the office to write me a script. Will the tramadol be just as effective? I just took 3 50 mg tramadol to start off with.

The data varies and states that it takes 50 to 100mgs of Tramadol to be equal to each 10mgs of Hydrocodone.

The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

How much did you doctor advise you to take?
