No, there is no over the counter replacement in the U.S. Hydrocodone is a narcotic, so it requires a prescription and doctor's regular monitoring.

The FDA warns that it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
