I was prescribed Vicodin for a dental implant and as given the hydrocodon acetominiphen 7.5-325, and had a reaction to them..It caused itching all over and wheezing. I have taken the name brand with no issues. where can I find out what the ingredients are in this? Could there be gluten in them as I have a gluten problem.

Hello, Ellen! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you had.

It is always possible to develop an allergy to something, even if you took it before, without a problem. So, we can't rule out that possibility.

As to the inactive ingredients, in the orange/peach oval tablet with the V 3605 marking, they are listed as being:

croscarmellose sodium
FD&C Red No. 40
FD&C Yellow No. 6
lactose Monohydrate
magnesium stearate
microcrystalline cellulose
povidone
corn starch
sodium lauryl sulfate
and stearic acid.

So, you could be allergic to any one of those, one of the active ingredients which are Hydrocodone or Acetaminophen, plus there is also a chance that the corn starch is contaminated and contains some gluten products.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
