Hydrocodone does not get dangerous, after the expiration, but it does slowly lose effectiveness and after all these years, the chance of them actually doing anything is very low.
In addition, if they contain Acetaminophen, that will also lose effectiveness and doubling up on them isn't a good idea, because taking too much of it, in a day, can be toxic.
