Hydrocodone Is Metabolized Into Dilaudid In The Liver.

Vicodin or hydrocodone is synthethized or converted to hydromorphone in the liver. Codeine is made into morphine in your liver. Recently as you may know, Vicodin or Norco's were rescheduled to the highest level in the system. C-II. The reasons are varied. Most think it's because of the addition. Other's the damage that is induced because of the acetaminophen. Some because of the ease of phoning in a phony Rx to the pharmacy. Most just think that it's the #1 abused narcotic out there and too many Rx's are given. The fact is: Xanax is more addicting and abused. Other's cite OD's with hydrocodone,Oxycodone, Valium, Clonazepam, Xanax and and Soma's and anything else. The "Holy Grail" is known as (OXY's ,XANAX, and SOMA's) This combo raises a red flag everywhere.

Well said Kim! I think there's a massive divergence that the DEA caused between comparing the level of abuse and danger of a particular substance to the level of controlled substance they classify it as. Marijuana being a golden example as well in this regard. It's not dangerous at all in my opinion, yet on the DEA's page (dea.gov/druginfo/ds.shtml) they categorize Marijuana under "the most dangerous drugs of all the drug schedules"; Xanax being listed among the safest drugs in schedule IV with a "low potential for abuse"....I mean what a joke right!? Lol. Looking past the propaganda, it's easy for me to see that their regulations are not about safety, but just about profits and pushing their own products instead of nature's as well as creating competition in an otherwise free market society.
