Hydrocodone-half Every 3 Hours Vs. Full Every 6 Hourd
UpdatedMy elderly mother has shingles and was give hydrocodone 5mg with 325 mg acetaminophen. Can i give her half a tablet every three hours instead of a full tablet every six hours to cut down on the possibility of dizziness and falling?

And it really should be dosed as prescribed by her doctor.
Has she experienced dizziness from it?
If so, you could try giving her half a tablet every 4 to 6 hours, if her doctor approves.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
