Hydrocodone Dosing Precautions

Can improper dosing of hydrocodone be fatal to a 12 year old girl who has never taken any type of drug ever? What would happen if she took too many tablets all at once? Please, somebody help!

Of course it can. Hydrocodone is a narcotic, so taking too much, at any age, risks overdose. It's just that the risk is lower for someone that is opiate tolerant.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

If you're worried that a child took too many, you should seek emergency medical attention for them.
