Hydrocodone/apap Liquid And Tylenol Together

Was given RX Hydrocod/acetaminophen 7.5-325/15ML every 4-6hrs. Can you also use liquid tylenol 500 mg over the counter together, alternating?

You should not combine OTC tylenol with any prescription meds that also contain tylenol. You may want to call or see your Dr or dentist if the rx you were given isn't helping the pain.

I Ran out of my hydrocodone/ acetaminophen 10-325 T. About how many of the over the counter extra strength Tylenol's can I take to get close to the hydro's. I'm out of town for 2 more days. Need something to ease pain up at least somewhat. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

You should not take more than 4,000 mg Tylenol in a 24 hour period or more than 1,000 mg every 6 hours. The tylenol won't equal the hydrocodone/acetaminophen you've been taking but it may help some.

The information post by BL is correct, however, in recent years, the FDA has lowered the amount of Tylenol/Acetaminophen/Paracetamol that can be taken per day to only 3,000mgs, due to increasing rates of overdose. While it is available over the counter, so many people think it is completely safe, taking too much Acetaminophen in any 24 hour period can cause death, due to liver failure.

Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, and headache.
