Hydrocodone Apap 5mg 325mg Tabs

Iv had this medication for 18months now and when I too it it took along time to kick in Should I get a new prescription?

Hi Sandy,

How did you have to wait before noticing any relief from taking it?

Unless you took it with a meal, it shouldn't take very long (typically no more than say 15-20 minutes on average) to feel the effects of a medication you ingested.

If however, you are simply not getting much relief or benefit from its use, I would definitely encourage you to speak with your doctor about other types of treatment options for your pain.

the time it takes to absorb very's from person to person and the time you ate around taking the pill. it is strongly recommended that you eat something when you take this pill.. i have found the best results by doing the following. for instance say you take your medicine in the morning. before you swallow the pill, drink milk or eat something that will cover the bottom of your stomach. for example i would eat a little more than half a bagel and a small glass of milk. i then take the pill and then eat a medium or normal sized meal right after. this kicks your digestive system into high gear and will help it work faster. my experience with hydrocodone is that it could take anywhere from 35 mins to 1 1/2 hours
