Hydrocodone Apap 5 325 Tab Mall
UpdatedOk, I am taking 4 and a 1/2 a day and have been on them for about 2 months now. My question is: They don't seem to be working like they were before, but I don't want to be addicted or maybe I already am and that's why they don't seem to help the pain as they did before? So is the mall at the end just the maker, distributer?

Hello, Judi! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having.
The mall stands for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, they're the manufacturer.
You will also likely be relieved to know that you don't have to be addicted to develop tolerance to a medication. That happens to everyone with any medication they take for a long period of time, your body just gets used to it and it stops working as well as it did. Sometimes it takes years for it to happen to someone and sometimes it can take just a few months, it all depends on body chemistry.
Have you contacted your doctor about it?
I've been taking the yellow generic hydrocodone 10/325 from Parp, not sure of the full manufacturer's name. Never had any problems. For pain relief, I only had to take 1 every 4 - 6 hours and it helped greatly. Then my pharmacy changed their manufacturer to Mallinckrodt; a white pill. They made me sick as a dog and they didn't work. I started out with one, an hour later my pain was worse, then I took 1 more and still no relief just extremely ill. I went immediately to the pharmacy and told them what was happening and they basically told me "to bad" there's nothing we can do to help you. They order the cheapest brand they can get and they don't tell you they've switched manufacturers either. Make sure that you check your pharmacy's manufacturer before you have your prescription filled because once you have your Meds in hand you're screwed! I learned my lesson the hard way.
Mall (Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals) manufactures the generic form of Norco. They don't have to use the proper amount of the pain medication. They can use 1-20% less. This medication doesn't work at all. It made me horribly sick and absolutely no pain relief what so ever. The pharmacy didn't tell me they switched manufacturers and I didn't notice until my husband brought it home. As soon as I had a problem I notified my pharmacy and they did absolutely nothing to help me. Actavis is another manufacturer that uses Watson as an identifier and it's bogus. Watson no longer makes Norco. Actavis is another hydrocodone manufacturer and their pills are useless as well. I've had Qualitest and Par. They are the only ones that work. These other companies are claiming their formula is to help keep people from becoming addicted??? In actuality they are not giving you the proper amount of pain medication as stated on the product. If you have a prescription for 10/325 or 5/325 you are not getting what you pay for, they have decreased the amount of actual pain medication and added something else to their formulas. Do your research and speak to your doctor.
