I'm sorry, but that isn't true. They are just a coloring agent that the manufacturer chose to use to distinguish their pills from the others on the market.

The FDA classifies this mediation as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

There is no actual opium in this medication, refined or otherwise.
