Hydrocodone is a narcotic analgesic, as listed by the FDA, so it is used to treat pain. However, it does carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth.

It should not be taken, unless it has been prescribed for you and then you should be careful not to exceed the recommended dosage.
