Hydrcodone 5/325 (lortab) Shortage

I just left Walgreens in Nasjville, TN and was told that that they can't fill my prescription for 10/325 (Lortab) due to a problem with the manufacturer. I called a Publix pharmacy that told ne that a change in the delivery scheduling is causing the shortage. I sure hope they clear this up soon!

Hello, Bennie! How are you? I'm sorry that you're having a problem getting your prescription filled.

We are also into the time of year where there is almost always a shortage of controlled substances, due to mandatory manufacturing limits. Once a company has produced their allotted amount, they can't manufacture any new product, until the new year.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

The best suggestion I can make is to speak to your doctor about using an alternative medication, in the meantime.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?
