Hyd 40 - Is It A Vicodin?

Is a hyd 40 a vicodin? My doctor prescribed them to me and I need to know what it is before taking it. My doctor is not in this week due to the holidays. Please help. Thanks.

This tablet is manufactured by Purdue Pharma and they list it as being a 40mg Hysingla ER tablet, it is a time released formulation of Hydrocodone, so it lacks the Acetaminophen that Vicodin contains and is not immediately released.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
