Humira Not Working
UpdatedI have been on humira for 14 months along with mtx. I have yet to see any improvement. I feel like I'm getting worse actually. I use a cane to walk. My elbow & knees hurt so bad to touch the bed to sleep. It keeps me awake at night. I am relying on ibp & oxycodone every 6 hrs to try & move. I have an appointment with my rheumatologist in 2 weeks &hoping for a change in medication. I assume I should have seen some relief by now. Anyone else take it so long without relief?

Hello, Lisa! How are you doing? I'm sorry that you're in so much pain.
Yes, I think that after 14 months, if there's no improvement, it is time to move on and try something else.
Can anyone that's been on it chime in with their experiences?
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, headache, redness, itching and bruising.
I have been on Humira for almost 4 months now with no relief yet. I get so sick after taking injection for 4 days afterwards that I am wondering if this is worth it. I am having a knee replacement soon so I will have to go off it in 1 month so I will talk to rheumatologist about switching to something else afterwards. I think after 14 months it is time to think about something else
