Hello, Francina! How are you?
How long have you been taking the medications? They do take a bit of time to work, which is why they are usually prescribed for anywhere from 7 to 14 days.
The brownish discharge is likely due to some spotting, which vaginal creams may cause as side effects.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of the antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea and dairy products may cause you to not absorb as much of them as needed, so your doctor was correct in advising you to avoid them.
