The key, according to the NIH, is to keep it in your system, at a steady level, but it doesn't have to be exactly precise. Thus, there is no need to set your alarm and take one in the middle of the night.

One in the morning, when you get up should be fine, then one later in the day and the other at bedtime, unless your doctor states otherwise.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
