Hello, Cici! How are you? You should not take more than your doctor has prescribed.
The ratio, however, would be 30mgs of the Hydrocodone in the Vicodin to each 20mgs of Oxycodone. The problem is the Acetaminophen that is also in Vicodin, it is dangerous to take too much of it in any 24 hour period. Thus, if the current dose you've been prescribed of Vicodin does not help you, it would be much safer to speak to your doctor about adjusting your dosage, or trying a different medication.
The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.
