How Long Will Methadone Stay In Your System

I take 100mg of methadone for strictly pain maintenance for my crippling pain. I've been on this dose for nine years. I was just tested due to my fiancé being on narcotics. They said they ran it for methadone and it came back clean. Is that even possible???

I take 10 mg of methadone everyday for bulging discs in my neck. Got a drug screen to take for a job, what can I take or do to pass the drug screen??

Methadone is not usually included on standard drug screens, it requires a specialized test to be detected, so yes, if they were not using the right test, they may not have detected it. Sometimes, it is just thought of as an opiate, and they think it will show up as one, but it's metabolites don't show up like other opiates, such as Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, or etc. There are various NIH studies available that explain this.

DJ, do you know what type of test they do? If it is just a standard one, they most likely don't test for it.
