How Long To Take Off Weight After. Taking Bystolic

I started bystolic 4 years ago. I ve had several issues with it. The most troubling is the 40 pound weight gain. Just stopped bystolic. Wondering if anyone can tell me if I am stuck with this gain or will I start to lose it. I am not usually overweight. But could not lose an ounce on bystolic.

What did you replace it with? If you were taking it for high blood pressure or a cardiac condition, then you can't just stop such a medication abruptly, unless your doctor has approved your doing so, because that creates the risk of a rebound effect, which could result in severely elevated blood pressure and heart rate.

You really need to work with your doctor to find a medication that works for you, without causing such problematic side effects.

But yes, once switching off the medication that is the culprit, the medication usually does start to fall off.

I was also on Bystolic for 2 years...gained 30 lbs in addition to multiple other side effects. I weaned myself off 6 months ago and I still cannot lose weight. My metabolism has been completely screwed up and some of the side effects are lingering. Any ideas from anyone how to reverse the effects and get my metabolism back to functioning? Exercise, healthy eating, etc and I haven't lost any.

How old are you?

It is possible that the medication might have initially caused the weight gain, then age and hormonal changes have made it stick.

Are you on any other medications?
