Hi Connie,

It's a little difficult to understand the entirety of your post due to grammatical errors, but immediate release oxycodone has an estimated half-life of 4 hours - At which point only 2.5mg out of the 5mg would still be active. I believe this is why typical adult dosing charts suggest taking 1 tablet every 4-6 hours as needed for around the clock pain relief. 5mgs is also the smallest available dosage of oxycodone (at least to my knowledge) - So you could always talk with your doctor about going up to 7.5mg or 10mg if the 5mg isn't sufficient.
