How Long Is The Medication Good After Date Of Expiration

Diovan only 2 months after expiration date. Is it safe to take? Next appointment with doctor is for next month. Please let me know, I will appreciate it.

This medication doesn't get dangerous, once it's expired, but it does start to lose effectiveness and may not work as well as it did, when it was new. It would be best to just obtain a new supply, unless your doctor okays you taking the expired one.

However, this isn't a medication that requires a doctor's appointment, so if you call, they should be able to phone or fax a prescription for you to your pharmacy to get you through, until your appointment.

The FDA classifies this medication as being an ARB that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, increased urination and hypotension.
