How long does it take for the side effect of constipation from hydrocodone to wear off? I stopped taking it Sunday and now its Tuesday and there is no relief from the constipation. I feel "swollen" and my stomach is refluxing badly and I am losing my appetite.

Hello, Jp! How are you feeling?
Have you tried anything to relieve it, such as a fiber supplement? That's what I have always found to work best, when I experienced that side effect.
You should also have this checked out, because that could be the sign of a serious complication.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
