Subutex has no naloxone the blocker in it so u cld take it rite after u use n b fine its suboxone u have to worry about if u dont wait long enough ull go into precipated withdrawal which is way worse than reg withdrawal its all the withdrawalnall at once

Sean, I know this is an old post but I hope you see this. You are the only person that has said anything about the length of time until the subutex starts working. I started yesterday, went into precipitated withdrawal for 12 grueling hours, and now Ive been taking 2mg of subutex every few hours. How long after the 12 hr P/W will the subutex start working? Im not as sick as i was but i am no where close to where i know i can be. Hope you see this or someone else who knows sees it

I was not Subutex was the same as Suboxone and when you get on it you supposed to be two days clean like in your withdrawals almost like two days without taking anything then you supposed to start it so that's what my doctor told me. Good luck.

My son has been on methodone since July. He missed a dose yesterday and today, Sunday, they wouldn't give him a dose. Said he has to see doctor tomorrow. He's on 120 dose. He was planning to try to reduce methodone asap and switch to suboxan. Since he's been off two days, last dose Friday morning, how low should his methodone level be now. Would it be possible for him to make the switch. Thanks.

I have been on 150 mil of methadone. I have not had methadone for 4 days but I started subutex two days ago. It puts me in withdrawal symptoms. I have been in bed. How long will it take for me to feel better???

No. You went into early withdrawals from not waiting long enough. For instance I was doing a bun of dope a day. 2 days later a sub threw me into he'll. take Vicodin to get u through 3 days then the 4th morning take sub and you'll be ok

No never take an opiate antagonist until your opiate receptors are depleted .Then once you take 24mg is the maximum sealing dose. Start out slow, 2-6mgs and see how you feel.. I've heard to wait 24hrs after any narcotic to use but methadone hangs around forever. Consult a Dr or the sub web site

This post is way past the initial print but maybe it will help someone else. Never take subutex or God forbid suboxone after methadone. Even if you stop the done and go back to your doc. Methadone has a tremendous long half life ' I was on 180 for 5yrs and even though I was in a rehab the Dr was very ignorant ' He took me down to 40 from 180 in a week By the end of week 2 gave me subutex which through me into HELL. The precipitated withdrawal symptoms are no joke. I almost stroked out it really was HELL. I was in detox 2months before I would try 2mg of subutex. Be very careful. Always be with a friend or preferably under a dr's. care.

How did u do? I waited 3 days...and then started subs...had one day of thought I was dying wd then a few days of feeling like s***. Took 5 weeks for the methadones.to get outof my system. I'm.ok now.

Get onto program as soon as u r getting habit again ,it's easier to get off than methadone which I was on 15yrs 19ml ,dropped to 7 ml in 18months told to hard to go straight to subutex so used heroin a week or so went subtext b off all in 6 months , good luk mate it's a demon drug heroin!

usually have 2 b on min 30 mg methadone b4 changing 2 subutex,may get some withdrawl 4 first24-36hrs,then subutex will kick in.

thank you n yes i was on a script bt stop using methadone cause ive had enough of it all and knw that the withdrawal of subitex isnt as bad as methodone this is poison and shouldve never gt on it so jst stopped all together and nw using herion to the methadone is out off my system then ill wait 12 hours or so b4 i take subutex bt jst wanted to knw if any1 been in same sitution and hw long they waited cse i knw if u take it why methadone still in ure system ill be in a rgt state
