It should have some effect shortly after taking it, though it may take a month to reach its full efficacy level in your body, but it is an analgesic.
Has it been helping your pain, at all? You may need a dosage adjustment, if it's not helping.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

This is crazy, its supposed to be immediate relief. It shouldnt have to build up to a certain level in your body.
