I have taken 35mg of methadone today, and i have a urine drung test coming up, how long will it take to get out of my urine?

You are way wrong. Methadone can stay in your system for months depending on your dose and how long you have been taking it. It is stored in your liver and fat cells. I have been on it for many years and I know it is the hardest drug to come off of.

5-7 days if you only took that amount for that one day. I was told by a dr. that it also has to do with how well your body metabolizes. So the amount you took if only that amount and for that day 5-7 days and you should be ok.

i have taken 10 to 40 mg of mehtadone daily for the last 2 yrs off and on. i bought some dipstick drug tests and tested positive for it for 21 days. the 22nd day it was gone....
i didnt drink until pee was totally clear but i do drink alot of iced tea and it was very fainltly yellow urine.

I was on methadone maintenance for 3 years @ 125 mg daily, I was asked to leave because of constant positive benzo urines and they dropped me 10 mg a day. I luiclily found a doctor who prescribed me 60 mg a day a for another 3 years. He retired and no other doc would help the dirty junkie. The withdrawal is a friggin' nightmare. Hallucinations and legs kickin. It was as if I were in an extreme collision and lie on the couch for a month. I couldn't drive for another month after that. I used to kick h with x's in a few days. You can get it out of your system relatively fast by drinking gigantic amounts of water. I put lemon in it just for an additive. You don't want to drown yourself, but for the first few days after use force yourself to drink. I have terrible chronic pain but have been labelled an addict. Doctors run when you mention pain and you're under 70! Where do do that this label will not follow? Back to the clinic with every psycho I ever knew is hanging out? Back to the underworld? I have been stable for about 5 months with a small amount of pain killer but it is coming to an end. I work a full time job, have a daughter and wife. I would advise any young addict to keep your mouth shut about being addicted with any doctor outside of a clinic or counseling. Once you are branded you are an outcast.

You have to drink a lot of cold, clear water. I am serious. If you increase your water uptake by double you will clean it out. when I am facing a test I will even drink a large glass before going to sleep and get up and piss all night. I know too well the consequences of having some a**hole telling me that I have a dirty urine. The opiate game is coming to a close I fear--there are way too man y new people destroying everyone around them. When your sick...you take care of it like an addict...not by emptying your grandmother's life savings. No wonder the law is in an uproar.

The length of time any drug (illicit or prescribed) stays in your system will vary. In large part, it depends on your physiological makeup (e.g., your physical height, weight, your amount of body fat, your age, current state of health, whether or not you exercise mildly-aggressively-or at all). Whether or not you are undergoing any degree of stress (i.e., your "state of mind") at the time you ingest drugs can play a part as well.
Still other considerations include your "frequency" of use (1x per day? 3-5x per day?), the "quantity" of drug you used each time, and the "length of time" (days? weeks? months?) of your consistent drug-use prior to your drug test. Even the quality ("potency") of the drug you ingest determines "how long" the drug is detectable in your system when your urine is analyzed (tested) at the lab.
However, for most people, detectable levels (i.e., shows up as a "positive" in a laboratory drug test) of the following drugs stay in the body for these approximate periods of time.
Methadone, 1-7 days.
Depends on use. one time -3 days. maintenance use - 1 week.
As for adequate dosing and effects approx. 24 hours , after that withdrawal symptoms appear as for drug testing I could estimate it not appearing on specific methadone test after 5-10 days of abstinence.
I have been on methadone for almost 3 years and from what I've been told methadone has a "half life" of 24 hours... meaning 1/2 the methadone is in your system for 24 hours. So for example, someone who's only taken one dose of methadone, say 50 mg.


Day 1: 50 mg. (Day they took it).
Day 2: 25 mg.
Day 3: 12.5 mg.
Day 4: 6.25 mg.
Day 5: 3.12 mg.
Day 6: 1.56
Day 7: .78
***Generally once you get below 1/2 mg. it doesn't show up.
However, for someone like me who takes methadone daily, and has, for a long period of time, it would take longer. Even if someone took it a week it'd be much longer.
Example:
Day 1: 50 mg. (Day you took it)
Day 2: 25 mg. from original dose. PLUS: Additional 50 mg.
Day 3: 12.5 from original dose, 25 from 2nd dose. PLUS: 50 mg.
Day 4: 6.25 from original, 12.5 from 2nd, 25 from 3rd. PLUS: 50 mg.
Day 5: 3.12 from original, 6.25 from 2nd, 12.5 from 3rd, PLUS: 50 mg.
Day 6: 1.56 from original, 3.12 from 2nd, 6.25 from 3rd, 25 from 4th, PLUS: 50
Day 7: .78 from 1st, 1.56 from 2nd, 3.12 from 3rd, 12.5 from 4th, 25 from 5th, PLUS: 50

im here to help clear the air with what I know. I used to do heavy doses of methadone and eventually decided it was time to stop, I was taking methadone every day for almost 3 years. all be it, very very low doses. I would call myself a functioning addict, if there is one. I would have 60 pills on me, but limit myself to one 10mg pill per morning when I got up, just as a booster to feel "normal". Ive worked full time for 15 years, but recently decided I would make a carreer change. Knowing they drug test I new I had to bite the bullet and stop. Im married with kids. I have read so much crap on the net about how long this stuff stays in your system. I was so confussed, I called my best friend, who is a doctor, and has been my childhood best friend, He was even my best man in my wedding. Anyway, back to the point. He told me the half life does very greatly from person to person, with a half life of 72 to 105 hours, but as little as 24-48 hours depending on how active you are. I myself am simi active, but could definalty stand to be more active, but I am not overweight. My friend told me with my height and weight he figured I would be 48 to 72 hour half life at worst. He also said because of the length of time I had told him I had been taking them, he said in general most people will take 5 half lifes to clear their system. based off of what he felt about me physically he said that day 12 I should be find to piss clean, but day 15 would be a defiant unless I had other things going on medically that I didn't know about. Anyway I took a home test kit on day 8, needless to say it came up hot. I was crushed, I hoped against hope that it would be clean. This morning day 12, my second urination of the day (never take a UA on your first urination of the day, any toxin in your body is gonna be in that urine for sure), I was excited to stay, he was right. Day 12 was clean. I am still gonna take two more before I go in for an official UA, but if you have a good job, and they do UA, just realize your playing Russian rullette with this stuff. Its expensive and to think I have done it this long just to feel normal. It hasn't been an easy past 12 days, but it will get better. Trust me, stay away from this crap, its not worth it. Oh to post some facts on me. I am 5'10" I was 205lbs, dropped 10 pounds already from getting off this s*** because what it does to your liver, every stays in your system and you balloon up. Also I ride the bikes at the gym 3 times a week for a half hour too fourty five minutes, and I play with my kids. Nothing overly crazy, but a little. Best type I can give, drink lots of water, take garlic pills (get them at walmart) and bottle of jagger. My best friend the doctor said the garlic pills will detox your liver, the water will detox your kidneys (those are the two major player organs in this fiasco). Also methodone stops your liver from secreting an enzyme it needs to break down the methadone, which is what makes it last longer in your system. Alchohol on the other hand makes your liver create the enzyme needed to break down the methadone and get it out faster. I didn't start drinking until day 10 so it could be a coincidence, just sharing what the doctor told me. I hope this helps, but above all, just done do this crap, its not worth the heart ache

I took methadone for 5 yrs and jumped off 30 and did a cold turkey, it wasn't pleasant, the only aid I used was for diahorea. After 8 weeks a reasonable nights sleep came and after 10 weeks I started to come good with no more sweats. I also moved away to do this, I will never take methadone again but I did appreciate it for when I needed it.

I am on Methadone, 120mg/day and when I quit taking it, it still showed up 2 months after I had stopped. Doctor said it was because the methadone metabolites build up and build up and it takes a long time to get em out of your system...

I posted the one for someone taking a small amount just for one day only. I just paid $25.00 To a dr. on the website( Just ask)which is related to this website.I had taken 40mgs today of methadone because i ran out of my oxy's. tomorrow I get my refill of oxy. But I needed to know How long it would stay in my system because i get pee tested in 2 weeks. That was his answert since I only took it for one day just as the other guy did too.

i have been trying to get off methadone this week. i took my last 2 mg two days ago n now im in so much pain. i really dont want to go back to methadone but it hurts really bad. after nine years of using the drug im tirer is there anyone out there who can help me get rid of the pain so i can go back to living life and not use methadone

I was on 600mg of Methadone ever other day, I alomst died and was in ICU for 4 days and in the hospital completely for 8 days while in the hospital they cut me down to 30mg a day. Two weeks later I got into a Suboxeone program and they asked me to stop the Methadone and gave me a perscription for Percocet, I did the Percocet for 5 days and then was able to be put on the Suboxeone, today has been one week, I was feeling great until I went into the office for an appt and drug screen and thinking that I was doing so good, low and behold they informed me that I STILL HAVE METHADONE in my system, talk about a let down, so definantly Methadone can stay in your system for awhile, it is sad because I know that I haven't done anything but it is still there. WOW

They do not show up the same. Methadone shows up as methadone if they give you the right test. Most of the time they dont test for methsdone. The oxy shows up as oxy

if it was a urine test strip then it was a faulty test, For sure. there is no way that 100mg of methadone was still in his system after 2 months, No F***ing way. unless it was a hair test. must have been a false positive.

Yes... I had taken some Methadone for about 2 weeks... about 40 mg a day... and 2 weeks later when I went in for my "monthly" scripts from my doctor, the piss test said that I had Methadone in my system.

I took 90 mg of liquid methadone through a clinic on Saturday. I drank 3 extra glasses of water a day for each day after with emphasis on night time urination. On Thursday I gave a urine sample which tests for each individual drug in your system and passed! I have a high metabolism and am skinny. If you have the opposite drink a lot more water. It doesn't matter what color your piss is-the drug stays in there a long time-water, water, water!!! Not beeer either!!

u were taking it daily-I was on maintenance for 5 years and it takes a long time to get rid of it after prolonged use, but with a day or two of use it can be dispelled in as fast as 5 days. I just took the piss test last month and it came up negative. 240mg is a lot-in Buffalo most people top at 200-I only met one person beyond that-hats off-u know the true meaning of what hell is like!
