How Long Does It Take To See Results Of Norethindrone 5 Mg

I currently take 5 mg of norethindrone for ten days before my period. This is my fourth month taking it. Although I have seen some difference in my period I haven't had the result I was hoping for. I was put on this for heavy periods. Does this medicine sometimes take longer to see a result in some people or am I just unlucky.

Hi Lana,

Usually it takes a few months for any birth control to work full force. You have been taking it for 4 months which is quite a while, so you should be seeing results by now. Everyone's body is different though so it could just be taking longer for you. If you want, you can give it another month or two, but if nothing changes I'd speak with your gynecologist about trying something different.
